Co-Founders Named Finalists for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2025 Pacific Region

Seven Generations Capital is proud to announce that our founders, Michael and Andrew Hungerford, have been named finalists in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2025 Pacific program—one of the most prestigious business awards programs in the world.

The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® program celebrates entrepreneurs who are building and leading successful, innovative businesses that make a positive impact in Canada and beyond. Michael and Andrew’s selection reflects their groundbreaking work in launching and scaling Seven Generations Capital, an Indigenous-owned, institutionally backed real estate private equity firm advancing Indigenous self-determination through land development and aligned capital.

Rooted in their Gwich’in heritage and decades of combined experience in real estate, Michael and Andrew co-founded Seven Generations Capital to bridge a critical market gap: enabling Indigenous communities to lead large-scale urban real estate projects with long-term ownership, cultural identity, and economic inclusion at the core.

“This recognition isn’t just about our business—it’s about the communities we serve and the future we’re building together,” said Michael Hungerford. “We’re guided by the principle of acting today for the benefit of seven generations to come.”

Under their leadership, Seven Generations Capital is launching a $300 million real estate fund—the first of its kind in the world—designed to unlock billions in Indigenous-led development. Each project supports housing, mixed-use, and commercial real estate on Indigenous lands, driven by a model that is safe, and scalable.

“Being a finalist affirms what we’ve always believed: that performance and purpose can go hand in hand,” said Andrew Hungerford. “We’re proud of the structure we’ve built, but even more proud of the relationships and capacity that grow from it.”

As finalists, Michael and Andrew will continue through the national judging process, with the opportunity to advance to the Canadian Entrepreneur Of The Year® title and ultimately represent Canada at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ awards in 2026.
